Our male voice choir was established on 7th January 1923 and as the name suggests, we have the beautiful city of Gouda as our home base.
Gouda is not only known for its gothic City Hall but also for the ancient canal houses and its cosy historical town centre is certainly worth a visit. Besides being famous for the syrup waffles and candles, Gouda is better known as the cheese capital and water town. In the middle of the medieval city centre you will find St John’s Church and at 123 meters the longest church in The Netherlands. It is world famous for the stain glass windows, some of which date back to the 16th century. A visit to the famous cheese market in the front of the medieval weigh-house every Thursday morning during the summer is a must. If you are interested in ships the Goudse Water Days at the end of July is a sight you don’t want to miss. You will find the most beautiful and oldest sail, steam and freight ships and pleasure boats moored in the canals and in The Inner Harbour Museum.
All of this makes a visit to our beautiful city most certainly worthwhile.
The aim of Male voice choir Gouda's Liedertafel is to take male voice choir music to the highest possible level. We give many concerts in The Netherlands as well as abroad.
